A beautiful, spacious, well equipped house located in the historic heart of Cape May. Marlin House has 4,200 sq ft of living space incorporating many unique features as well the modern amenities needed to have a wonderful vacation. The house is located next door to the Emlen Physick Estate on historic Washington Street, convenient for all the main attractions in Cape May. The house has dual zone Central a/c, high speed internet and wi-fi, Roku/Sling enabled televisions in all bedrooms and family room. The house has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. There are six large bedrooms (two with King beds, three with Queens and one with four single beds), four full bathrooms, the living room can be converted to additional sleeping space with a comfortable Murphy Chest Queen bed. The first floor includes a spacious entrance hall, an attractive living room with gas fire and comfortable seating and a beautiful dining room with a table that can easily be extended to seat 14. The adjoining kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, dishwasher, microwave, French door refrigerator and breakfast bar. The kitchen flows into the family room where you can relax and play one of our many board games or adjourn to the sun room and have a drink or read a book whilst enjoying the views of the landscaped rear garden. The first floor also includes a full bathroom. There are two front porches to sit and watch the world go by on Washington Street. The second floor includes the extra large master bedroom, adjoining bathroom with walk in shower and Jacuzzi bath as well as walk in closet. Three further beautifully presented bedrooms, a full bathroom and separate laundry room provide ample space for large families or groups. The lower level includes a Queen bedroom, a larger bedroom with two singles and a trundle bed plus a full bathroom. There is ample parking for four cars plus a garage to store bikes/beach equipment and free street parking. The garage is equipped with a NEMA 14-50 socket for EV charging. The rear of the house provides privacy and a brick paved patio with grill and outdoor seating plus an enclosed outdoor hot/cold shower. The house is equipped with electronic locks .so no worries about losing keys. A beach box by Jefferson Street is included with the rental, 10 commercial beach tags are provided for guests use. One well behaved dog under 40lbs and over 2 years old will be considered. Fees include $250 pet fee and must be pre-approved by the homeowners.

Beautiful House for October wedding!

"My husband and I have rented in Cape May with our two sons for the last 35 years. We have stayed in many of the hotels, townhouses and private homes. When my son announced he was getting married in Cape May, I immediately called Sarah to look at a home that would accommodate the groomsmen as well as some relatives coming to the wedding. With COVID still raging in the winter of 2021, we set out on a bleak, rainy day to see several homes. As soon as I entered the Marlin House, I knew this was where I wanted my family to be to celebrate my son’s wedding. The house is absolutely the most beautiful, bright, spacious, well furnished home you can find in Cape May. It is more than charming, it is the perfect setting inside and out for guests to feel comfortable. My main goal in securing a rental property was that it was a layout where my guests would feel welcome and have enough privacy to enjoy their stay. I also wanted a beautiful backdrop for wedding pictures and this home provided that. After all, these pictures would provide memories for years to come. The Marlin House met all of my expectations and more. The house is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, bright, airy and the most well stocked home we have ever rented. I was able to provide my guests with bedrooms that were spacious, well appointed and did I say CLEAN. There were 4 full bathrooms which were updated and perfect for the 14 adults. There was even an outside shower. The first floor has a cozy front living room with Murphy bed. The dining room is large and has a table that can seat 12. Then there is the kitchen. I was amazed at how efficient and well stocked the kitchen was. Dishes, glasses, serving pieces and even 2 dog bowls with mats were included. Appliances are all updated and in the center is the island with four stools perfect for entertaining and serving appetizers and cocktails. Behind the kitchen is a roomy family room with large screen TV and next to that room is a stunningly gorgeous sun room with huge wrap around windows which look out to the lush green patio and yard. This is the room where we took so many pictures. There is one bathroom on this level for guests which was so convenient. Second floor has 4 large bedrooms, 2 king beds and 2 queen beds, laundry room, 2 bathrooms all spacious and a reasonable distance apart to provide adequate privacy. The lower level has 2 bedrooms and a full bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the larger room as 2 twin beds and a trundle. Furnishings are modern and all mattresses and pillows in the house have zippered covers on them. This was an outstanding feature since COVID was finally beginning to wane. This home is located next to Emlen Physick estate on Washington street one of the most beautiful streets in Cape May and a few blocks from the mall in town. Luckily we had the most gorgeous weather, 85 degrees and sunny. Some of our guests had never been to Cape May and they were thrilled to get out and walk around. They commented it was like a little vacation for them. When we arrived they was a gift bag with a bottle of wine, a jar of cape May jam and dog treats and some poop bags for my son’s boxer. How sweet was that? These people helped make our son’s wedding weekend the best time ever. I was truly blown away by their generosity and kindness. I have never rented such a comfortable home. You really feel like it’s your home when staying there. A huge thank you to the Sidell’s for allowing us to rent their home. I can assure you if you are planning a vacation, group weekend or any other event in Cape May this is the house you want to rent. After renting for 35 years we know many homes in Cape May. The Marlin House is absolutely the best! "

RENT. THIS. HOUSE - BEST OWNERS EVER!

"Three simple words...RENT. THIS. HOUSE! If you want to rent an amazingly beautiful house from owners who go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, than you need to rent The Mariner House. We were scheduled to rent this house 3/26/20 to 3/30/20 for my son's wedding in Cape May. Then, COVID shut the world down. The Sidells, without hesitation, graciously offered to move our rental to 2021 seamlessly, without any additional fees and with great compassion and kindness. When we arrived in Cape May for my son's postponed wedding on 3/25/21, the Sidell's had made The Mariner House as welcoming as our own home. However, don't just rent this house because of the awesome owners, rent it because it is AMAZING! The house itself is beautiful and the owners have decorated it perfectly but it is also the type of house that is purely welcoming and makes you feel like your home away from home. The house is equipped with everything you need and the 6 bedrooms and the ability to sleep two more on the queen murphy bed in the living room make this a house that comfortably accommodates large families or friend groups. Our favorite area of the house was the open air family room and sunroom that overlook the garden. Although everyone staying in the house had either been vaccinated or tested prior to the stay, the multiple large open rooms allowed people to comfortably gather together while still maintaining space if desired. The location of this house is perfect for everything you want to do in Cape May. It honestly felt like we were only 5 minutes from anywhere we wanted to go. We got very lucky with a 70 degree day on Friday and many of our guests walked to the Washington Street Mall and then to the beach to take advantage of the beautiful day. In the beginning we were only looking for a large house to accommodate us for my son's wedding, in the end we found a home we are anxious to visit again. "Our family of 15 enjoyed one week in this house in July 2019. The house has a large dining room for all family meals together and 3 family rooms for people to spread out to do different things. Three upstairs bedrooms have one bath to share and there is one master bedroom with its own bathroom. The 2 downstairs bedrooms in the basement level have one bath to share. We had no issues with any appliances or bathrooms not working and the furnishings in the house are new and comfortable. There is a locked beach box on Jefferson Street beach that the house owner maintains which stores 6 beach chairs and beach toys. House location is close to downtown Cape May and one can walk to church, restaurants, stores in the Washington Street Mall. Driveway holds 4 cars in a vertical line so you have move cars as needed and you can also park cars on the street across from the house. Street parking is prohibited on the street directly in front of house. Outside shower is close to house and convenient after a day at the beach. Outdoor furniture on large patio has one table and 6 chairs and the owner might consider buying more tables and chairs as our whole family would have liked to eat outside on the patio together as we had fabulous weather for our week and no rain!"
