    We hope you’ll join us for a West Cape May Community Christmas Parade Fundraiser!  Being held in the Borough’s Backyard Park at 732 Broadway in West Cape May on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11:00am – 7:00pm, come join fellow parade supporters in enjoying a delicious Fish Fry and refreshing Beer Garden, while listening to live music from some of our favorite local musicians. This event is family friendly!

    This event will feature pirates, music, and family fun. The Village buildings will be open, featuring historically clothed interpreters who will demonstrate the trades, crafts, and lifestyles of Early America.

    Pillage the Village! Children should be on the lookout for gold coins hidden throughout the Village that can be redeemed for a free prize!
    NEW this season Clan of the Raven will be sharing their love for the Viking Age and Norse Culture.
    Kaptain Kristian and Red will be present to tickle your funny bone.
     Jolly Shore Leave will be on deck to entertain and educate all you scallywags! Musically that is!
    Come young and old, salty and bold to hear of the thrilling tale of THE DEATH OF BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE!
    Prepare to laugh, gasp, and gape in amazement as BULLY BILLY tells tales of the Sea!
    Performances by Shades of Our Past! That’s edutainment folks!
    Main Deck Productions is back! Join in on the fun and frivolity with Captain Jack Sparrow and his trusty first mate Morgan!
    The Sea Dogs Maritime Band, an authentic maritime reenactment crew, will perform their sea shanties on both days at the Village Gazebo.
    Pirate Pete’s Soda Pop Co is about slowing down and taking the time to savor the experience.
    Their soda is carefully crafted the old-fashioned way, using only the best ingredients.

    The Borough of West Cape May is hosting the Tomato Festival at the Borough’s Backyard Park, 732 Broadway in West Cape May (behind the Fire House) on Saturday, September 2, 2023.  We will celebrate all things tomato at our themed festival!  Festivities are planned to begin at 9:00am and continue until 4:00pm. Proceeds from the quirky event benefit the WCM Shade Tree Commission in their endeavor to protect and improve the tree canopy of West Cape May. Come on out and share in the spirit of community. We look forward to celebrating the State's well known fruit with you in September!

  • Revolutionary War Weekend

    Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village, Saturday and Sunday, September 2nd and 3rd, from 11am to 4:00pm.

    The event will feature encampments, weaponry, and demonstrations from living history groups.

    Children can search the Village for clues in the Patriot Spy Game on both Saturday and Sunday.

  • Civil War Encampment

    The Civil War comes to life at the Village’s annual Civil War Weekend.

    Visitors can tour Union and Confederate camps and meet authentically clad and equipped military and civilian reenactors who will discuss the everyday lives of Civil War soldiers and the roles civilians played in supporting them. The Village, which re-creates a rural community in the 1800s, serves as the perfect backdrop in presenting this event to the public. The battle reenactment begins at 2:00pm.

    Visitors will be unable to enter the Village grounds from 1:45 pm to end of the battle. It is strongly encouraged that visitors arrive before 1:30pm. The Village buildings will be closed during the battle and will reopen afterward.

    West Cape May celebrates her farming heritage with the Annual Lima Bean Festival in the Borough's Backyard Park (732 Broadway, behind the Fire House) on Saturday, October 7, 2023!  The festival is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and is planned to delight locals and visitors alike with a vast array of recipes, crafts and products available.

    The West Cape May Community Christmas Parade is funded solely by donations, and sets the stage for the areas holiday season.  Always held on the first Saturday in December, now in its 56th year, the parade marches through town beginning at the West Cape May Volunteer Firehouse heading South on Broadway, turning East on Perry, and finishing its route through to the end of Carpenter Lane in the City of Cape May.  Each year a small group of volunteers assemble creating an unforgettable hometown memory, made possible by the donations received through out the year by the Community and its guests! In the unfortunate event of inclement weather, the Parade will reschedule to (Sunday) December 3rd.  Notice of any rescheduling with be posted to the Borough’s website and social media pages.
